Week 1: Young Architects and Engineers
Students will gain insight into what architects and engineers do in their respective professions. Hands-on projects will introduce them to basic elements of measurement, design, material use, proportion, functionality, and aesthetics. Students will apply their learning to create various structures, including a comfortable “Dog House” and a sturdy bridge.
Event Schedule:
WEEK 1 June 24-28 Young Architects and Engineers
- 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (early drop-off starts at 8:30; late pick-up until 3:30)
- 2 daily snacks provided; students bring a packed lunch
- All materials provided and included in the camp fee
- Cross-curricular activities including reading and writing centers, math games, and hands-on science experiments
- Focus on team building, collaboration, and communication through learning and play
- Daily mindfulness routines
